UGIS COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY – This is the departmental ceremony that includes Media Studies.

UGIS Commencement Ceremony 2021

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from UC Berkeley!

These opportunities are open to all undergraduate students graduating in fall 2020, spring 2021, and summer 2021.

UGIS Commencement website

Departmental commencement ceremonies are held in May. The Undergraduate and Interdisciplinary Studies (UGIS) Commencement includes students from Media Studies and other interdisciplinary majors in UGIS–American Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies (ISF) and Religious Studies.

There will be a virtual, asynchronous UGIS commencement ceremony taking place on Wednesday, May 19th, and will be available starting at 9AM – this event is asynchronous, meaning that we will be posting content to celebrate our graduates, but there will not be a UGIS specific processional or any in-real-time events. Students wishing to have their name included in the program should fill out the Media Studies exit survey, available on the UGIS Commencement website.

Students who anticipate graduating at the end of fall 2020, spring 2021, and summer 2021 may participate in the May 2021 UGIS Commencement Ceremony, as well as the campus-wide ceremony.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY CAMPUS-WIDE CEREMONIES

As Chancellor Christ announced, there will be a virtual campus-wide commencement ceremony at 9AM on Saturday, May 15, 2021, as well as an in-person, student-only procession at the Greek Theatre from May 16-20, 2021.

The University holds campus wide ceremonies in the fall and spring to celebrate graduating students. For dates and details regarding these two special events, visit https://commencement.berkeley.edu/.
